Weekend Reading #10: Successful analyses, education in Chicago

What is a Successful Analysis? (Roger Peng, simplystats)
The question of success in data analysis seems pretty straightforward until you try to articulate the definition. Roger takes a stab at that definition and helps us realize that success is, perhaps, a moving target that requires acute attention.

Educate Your Children (Gabrielle LaMarr LeMee)
In this interactive visualization, you are the parent of a 5-year-old child and you are trying to figure out where they will go to school. LeMee brilliantly uses data visualization using Census data to highlight school segregation in Chicago.  As someone getting ready to send their first kid to kindergarten, this was enlightening.

An Introduction to Graph Theory and Network Analysis (Analytics Vidhya)
I think the title pretty much says it all. This is a very gentle introduction that focuses on intuition rather than mathematical proofs and theory. It also allows you to get your hands dirty with some python code.
