About Me

headshotHi, I’m Chris Lynch.

To make a long story short, I am a front-end web developer turned roller derby coach turned sports medicine clinician who fell in love with research and statistics and decided to become a data scientist. You know, your average data scientist.  I currently work for the government using data science to improve access to healthcare, reduce healthcare costs, improve patient-reported and clinical outcomes, improve public health, and find alternatives to the cycle of incarceration. On the side, I also like to volunteer my time working on data science projects focused on animal welfare, access to education, and social justice.

In short, I’m passionate about utilizing data to create a healthier, more just world.

When I’m not nerding out over data sets and visualizations, I spend most of my free time with my partner and our two kids.  We spend our free time seeking out knowledge in science museums, art in performance centers, and beauty in the natural world. Although we also enjoy a classic sitcom (eg. Frazier) and good sipping whiskey.
